iOS & macOS Setup Guide

This guide walks you through connecting your iPhone, iPad, or Mac to CompassVPN using Streisand, a free app: install it, paste in your connection link, and connect.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, you’ll need:

  • A configuration link from your CompassVPN server
  • An Apple device running:
    • iOS/iPadOS 14.0 or later
    • macOS 11.0 or later for Mac with Apple M1 chip or later
  • Apple ID to download applications from the App Store

Step 1: Install Streisand

  1. Open the App Store on your Apple device
  2. Search for “Streisand” or use this direct link: Streisand on the App Store
  3. Download and install the app
  4. Open the application

Step 2: Configure Streisand

Before importing your configuration link, set these options:

  1. Open the Streisand settings
  2. In the DNS settings, set the first DNS server (DoU) to 8.8.8.8
  3. In the Tunnel settings, set the IP version to IPv4

Step 3: Import Configuration

  1. Copy your configuration link
  2. Open Streisand
  3. Tap the “+” button to add a new configuration
  4. Paste your configuration link
  5. Save the configuration

Step 4: Connect to CompassVPN

  1. Select your imported configuration
  2. Tap the connect button
  3. Allow VPN configuration when prompted
